WHO Code

 

The WHO Code ('International Code of Marketing of Breast Milk Substitutes') is an international code of conduct that ensures that everyone can make the right choice for their child's diet, without being influenced by the (sometimes aggressive ) marketing of commercial entities. It is important that your data is well protected. The Dutch Association of Lactation Consultants has drawn up a privacy protocol (Dutch) for this purpose. If you feel that your data is not handled with care, please contact us.


Professional profile IBCLC


A lactation consultant IBCLC is an internationally certified health professional who focuses specifically on the needs of (expectant) families in the perinatal period. The profession has existed since 1985 and there are now approximately 32,500 IBCLCs in 122 countries worldwide. The professional profile can be viewed here (pdf) (Dutch).


Professional association NVL


The professional association of lactation consultants IBCLC in the Netherlands is the NVL (Dutch Association of Lactation Consultants. Membership of the NVL is one of the conditions for reimbursement by many health insurers. On the website of the NVL you can look up and verify a lactation consultant in your area and check whether this lactation consultant is a member of the NVL.

In the context of the Healthcare Quality, Complaints and Disputes Act (Wkkgz) I am affiliated with the Klachtenportaal Zorg. If you have a complaint or are dissatisfied with the care provided, you can read here how to deal with this.
